Vinchin supports agentless backup for Proxmox VM, you can use the backup to restore Proxmox VM or perform V2V migration.
Installation & Configuration
You can get the installation package on the download page and then install it on a virtual machine or physical machine.
After that, upload the license that we send to you in the email.
Add backup storage before creating a backup job.
Host Adding:
Before adding the host, you need to install a plugin on the Proxmox host.
The steps to download and install the plugin can be found in HelpCenter.
Then you can add the Proxmox host with its credentials.
Backup Proxmox VM:
After adding the Proxmox host, you can create a backup task in 4 steps.
- Select the Proxmox VMs you want to backup
- Choose backup storage
- Set the backup policy
- Submit the task
Restore Proxmox VM:
When you need to restore a Proxmox VM, just select the restore point in the system and create a restore job in 4 steps.
- Select the restore point from Proxmox backup data
- Select the target host
- Select strategies or just skip it
- Submit the job
Except for full VM restore, you can also use it to perform granular restore to quickly extract file from it or instant restore to quickly recover a failed VM.
