Vinchin Backup & Recovery allows users to take backups of entire operating system or specific volume(s) of the physical Linux and Windows servers. And with the backup users can also perform partition-level restore or bare-metal restore based on users' requirements.

Vinchin supports Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10, Windows 11, Windows Server 2003/2003 R2, 2008/2008 R2, 2012/2012 R2, 2016,2019,2022.
It also supports popular Linux distributions like RHEL, CentOS, CentOS Stream, Ubuntu, Debian, SLES, openSUSE, Oracle Linux, Rocky Linux, etc.
Installation & Configuration
You can get the installation package on the download page and then install it on a virtual machine or physical machine.
After that, upload the license that we send to you in the email.
Add backup storage before creating a backup job.
Server Adding:
Before creating a server backup job, make sure you had installed the physical backup agents on the target Linux or Windows servers. The agent deployment is flexible, users can choose to manually install the agents or can simply use the push-install function to auto deploy agents on batch servers from within Vinchin backup server web console.
Server Backup:
There are 4 steps to create a server backup job:
- Select the host(s) you need to back up.
- Specify a backup storage to save your backup data.
- Configure backup strategy. You can setup the backup time schedule, throttling policy, data storage policy, retention policy and some other advanced options.
- Submit the task.
Server Restore:
With Vinchin Backup & Recovery, users could choose to perform partition-level or bare-metal restore of their physical servers using the backups. No matter which one you choose, you can restore it with just 4 steps:
- Select the restore point
- Select the restore destination
- Configure strategies or just skip it
- Submit the job
