Vinchin supports agentless backup for VMware VM, you can use the backup to restore VMware VM or perform V2V migration.
Installation & Configuration
You can get the installation package on the download page and then install it on a virtual machine or physical machine.
After that, upload the license that we send to you in the email.
Add backup storage before creating a backup job.
Host Adding:
You need to add the VMware host first.
The steps to add the VMware host can be found in the Help Center.
Then you can add the VMware host with its credentials.
Backup VMware VM:
After adding the VMware host, you can create a backup task in 4 steps.
- Select the VMware VMs you want to backup.
- Choose backup storage.
- Set the backup policy.
- Submit the task.
Restore VMware VM:
When you need to restore a VMware VM, just select the restore point in the system and create a restore job in 4 steps.
- Select the restore point from VMware backup data
- Select the target host
- Select strategies or just skip it
- Submit the job
Except for full VM restore, you can also use it to perform granular restore to quickly extract file from it or instant restore to quickly recover a failed VM.
