Vinchin supports agentless backup for XCP-ng VM and you can use the backup to restore XCP-ng VM or perform V2V migration.
Installation & Configuration
You can get the installation package on the download page and then install it on a virtual machine or physical machine.
After that, upload the license that we send to you in the email.
Add backup storage before creating a backup job.
Host Adding:
Before adding the host, you need to install a plugin on the XCP-ng host.
The steps to download and install the plugin can be found in HelpCenter.
Then you can add the XCP-ng host with its credentials.
Backup XCP-ng VM:
After adding the XCP-ng host, you can create a backup task in 4 steps.
- Select the XCP-ng VMs you want to backup.
- Choose backup storage.
- Set the backup policy.
- Submit the task.
Restore XCP-ng VM:
When you need to restore a XCP-ng VM, just select the restore point in the system and create a restore job in 4 steps.
- Select the restore point from XCP-ng backup data
- Select the target host
- Select strategies or just skip it
- Submit the job
Except for full VM restore, you can also use it to perform granular restore to quickly extract file from it or instant restore to quickly recover a failed VM.
