Vinchin Backup & Recovery allows users to perform file-level backups on both Windows and Linux file servers with a lightweight agent installed on the target file server.
Installation & Configuration
You can get the installation package on the download page and then install it on a virtual machine or physical machine.
After that, upload the license that we send to you in the email.
Add backup storage before creating a backup job.
Server Adding
Before taking file backup for your file server, a lightweight agent needs to be installed on the server.
After the agents had been installed and licensed for file backup, please follow the below steps to create database backup job.
Create file backup jobs
There are 4 steps to create a file backup job.
- Select files/folders you need to back up.
- Specify target backup destination.
- Configure backup strategy. You can setup the backup time schedule, throttling policy, data storage policy, retention policy and some other advanced options.
- Submit the task.
File Restore:
There are 4 steps to restore files from the file backup restore points:
- Select the restore point
- Select the restore destination
- Configure strategies or just skip it
- Submit the job
