Vinchin is one of the easiest solution to migrate cloud instance to on-premise virtualization platform. You can easily migrate AWS EC2 instance and Huawei EC2 instance to 15+ kinds of virtualization platform according to your needs. The general process includes backing up the cloud instance and then directly restore it on the target on-premise host.
Supported Platform:
Vinchin currently supports C2V migration for AWS EC2, Huawei ECS, VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, Proxmox, oVirt, OLVM, RHV, Citrix Hypervisor (XenServer), XCP-ng, ZStack, OpenStack, Sangfor HCI, H3C CAS/UIS, Huawei FusionCompute, etc.
Installation & Configuration
You can get the installation package on the download page and then install it on a virtual machine or physical machine.
After that, upload the license that we send to you in the email.
Add backup storage before creating a migration job.
Host Adding:
You need to add both platforms to the backup system for later migration.
You can add the cloud platform and the on-premise host with their credentials. Some of the virtualization platforms requires Vinchin plugin installed on them. You can refer to our HelpCenter.
Backup the source cloud instance:
First, you need to backup the source cloud instance in 4 steps.
- Select the cloud instance you want to backup.
- Choose backup storage.
- Set the backup policy.
- Submit the task.
Restore the instance to the target virtualization platform:
Then you can use the backup data to migrate the cloud instance to target host.
- Select the created backup data
- Select the target host
- Select strategies or just skip it
- Submit the job
