Vinchin supports agentless backup for OpenStack instance, you can use the backup to restore OpenStack Instance or perform V2V migration.
Installation & Configuration
You can get the installation package on the download page and then install it on a virtual machine or physical machine.
After that, upload the license that we send to you in the email.
Add backup storage before creating a backup job.
Host Adding:
Before adding the host, you need to install a plugin on the OpenStack host.
The steps to download and install the plugin can be found in HelpCenter.
Then you can add the OpenStack host with its credentials.
Backup OpenStack instance:
After adding the OpenStack host, you can create a backup task in 4 steps.
- Select the OpenStack instances you want to backup.
- Choose backup storage.
- Set the backup policy.
- Submit the task.
Restore OpenStack Instance:
When you need to restore an OpenStack instance, just select the restore point in the system and create a restore job in 4 steps.
- Select the restore point from OpenStack backup data
- Select the target host
- Select strategies or just skip it
- Submit the job
Except for full VM restore, you can also use it to perform granular restore to quickly extract file from it.
