ACROW Misr, a subsidiary of ACROW UK in the MENA region since 1977, has been committed to producing high quality products to British standards to meet the needs of the rapidly growing construction market in the region. The company serves a wide range of residential, commercial, high-rise, energy, industrial and infrastructure sectors, driving the development of the construction industry in Egypt and the region with superior formwork products and services.

ACROW's business systems run on two virtualization platforms, oVirt and OLVM, adding to the complexity of managing multiple platforms. As the company expanded into countries such as Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Qatar, the volume of data continued to grow. Therefore, ACROW urgently needed a smarter backup solution to meet this challenge. The solution should enable V2V migration between oVirt and OLVM virtualization platforms and provide more advanced features to better protect data and ensure service stability.

Vinchin Solution

The Vinchin backup solution offers compatibility with a wide range of virtualization platforms, including OLVM and oVirt, to ensure effective backup and protection of individual business systems. ACROW achieves efficient backup and data protection with the Vinchin Backup solution. VMs were integrated into the software by the IT team in a few simple steps, and the intuitive web console makes management easy.

Given the rapid growth of ACROW data, Vinchin offers permanent incremental backups. After the initial full backup, subsequent backups are incremental only for new or modified data. The system intelligently merges each incremental backup point according to the retention policy to realize the permanent incremental backup effect, thus effectively saving backup storage space and bandwidth resources.

In order to meet ACROW's demand for efficient data compression, Vinchin adopts the highly efficient LZO algorithm to compress the data. The compressed backup data is stored in the backup repository, ensuring the integrity and security of the backup data. This means that ACROW can confidently retain its backup data without worrying about wasted resources or data risk.
