China West Normal University, founded in 1946, is located in Nanchong, Sichuan Province. The university has 30 secondary colleges and offers 82 undergraduate majors in 10 disciplines. The campus covers an area of more than 4,000 acres and has more than 2,600 faculty members. The university has signed inter-university cooperation agreements with more than 20 colleges and universities in more than 10 countries and regions to carry out academic exchanges, reciprocal study visits and joint training programs for students. The university is committed to nurturing high-quality talents with innovative spirit and practical abilities, contributing to the development of society.

In recent years, with the rapid development of information technology, China West Normal University has been committed to promoting the construction of information technology. The university actively promotes the in-depth application of informatization in many fields, such as teaching, research, academic work, personnel, finance and campus management, in order to improve the management level and work efficiency. However, in the process of informatization construction, data security issues have become more and more prominent. The school has adopted two virtualization platforms, VMware vSphere and Sangfor HCI, which need to be managed in a unified manner. In addition, these platforms host multiple business virtual machines, which is a security risk for the safe and stable operation of the university. Therefore, China West Normal University urgently needs a disaster recovery and backup solution to ensure data security and availability.

Vinchin Solution

For the business VMs of Sangfor HCI’s platform, the solution adopts the designated network backup method, which realizes fast storage network backup and effectively shortens the backup window time.
