Business Challenge

Enbi Global, Inc. founded in 1950, is a global designer and manufacturer of paper transport, fusing and image transfer rollers, focusing primarily on the office equipment industry. Markets, such as mail handling, film developing equipment and cash handling are also served.

Enbi’s global headquarters are located in Indiana, USA. Since 1996, due to the rapid development of the global economy, several manufacturing locations have been established successively in Europe, America and Asia. Subsequently, the datacenter architecture of each branch has also completed the transformation from traditional to virtualized to improve the utilization of physical resources. “The massive amounts of data generated by all factories every day must be quickly transferred to the corresponding branches for offsite backup. Therefore, to guaranty our Asia branch business continuity and effectively protect the data and recover them at offsite quickly was an issue we’ve been always concerning about. ” Says Simon.

Moreover, when there is a problem in the factory datacenter, they don’t want to restore the entire VM, but only one of the files or folders to quickly restore the business. Otherwise, it may waste them a lot of time and not able to deliver the goods to customers on time. “That would definitely cause the factory huge economic and reputation losses. In short, it’s not worth spending time on these unnecessary processes. ” Said Simon.

Vinchin Solution

In response to the needs of Enbi customer, we separately installed the Vinchin Backup software version 5.0 in their VMware environment of Zhu Hai and Singapore branches within a few minutes for test. Set the Singapore backup storage as Copy Storage, then use “Backup Copy” feature to transfer the data of the Zhuhai factory directly to the Copy Storage in Singapore at requested time. More importantly, these copies can be restored on Singapore datacenter or back to Zhuhai datacenter, so far Disaster Recovery configuration has been completed. “What we didn’t expect was that this process is so simple and fast as everything can be perfectly done via a single Vinchin web console!” Said Simon.

“The Backup Copy feature is not the only reason we chose Vinchin, besides it also can achieve file-level recovery in minutes, which lead us no need to restore the entire VM every time to find out what we need, all we need to do is to select target files then download them from Browser, just that easy, isn’t it? Result

After successfully configuring Vinchin Backup & Recovery in the Enbi Asia Datacenter, everything worked well.
