Business Challenge

Vinchin completed the data protection and disaster recovery solution upgrades for the Higher People's Court of Ningxia and all its subordinate courts. The whole court system's production environment has included over 500+VMs running in 150 hosts. Now Ningxia court system has completed the informatization and data security construction of becoming a "digitalized court structure".

The Higher People's Court of Ningxia Hui-Autonomous Region was set up in 1958. It has made a positive contribution for Ningxia Hui-Autonomous Region's economic and social development, national unity and progress, social harmony and stability within this glorious 60 years. Today the Higher People's Court of Ningxia has 28 subordinate courts, handling more than 200,000 cases a year.

Ningxia court system's private cloud infrastructure was implemented by a domestic KVM based virtualization platform. They adopted unified use of virtualization + server + SAN storage solutions, to run a total of 500+ VMs on 150 distributed hosts as a variety of critical servers, carries the courts' crucial business systems of judgment, execution, OA and so on. Before upgrading, the courts' IT sector adopted the RAID mechanism of the server/storage itself to protect the data, and only carried out remote backup of the most critical data, lacking of comprehensive and reliable data backup and failure recovery mechanism. 

Vinchin Solution

By analyzing the deployment structure of the existing information system, Vinchin abandoned the old backup solution and deployed Vinchin Backup & Recovery in the datacenter of the Higher People's Court to establish a backup, disaster recovery and recovery verification environment.

All subordinate court business VMs are centrally protected by the Higher People's Court Datacenter via Vinchin agentless backup mechanism. No need to install backup agents and monitor backup tasks on nearly 500 virtual machines, significantly saves a lot of time in deployment and management.
