It merging backups according to the specified period or quantity after each backup. when the last backup point exceeds the retention period and other chains are present. It also supports backup chain retention which defines each full backup to the recovery point before the next full backup as a backup chian and lets you set how many backup chains to retain when creating a backup.

Effective Archival Retention Management

For archival backups, Vinchin offers a dedicated retention strategy focused on both short-term and long-term retention. You can even assign retention labels to archival data, with the option to apply the Permanent Retention label for indefinite preservation. Simply apply this label manually to ensure that data is retained indefinitely.

Comprehensive GFS Retention Management

Vinchin supports GFS (Grandfather-Father-Son) retention, offering long-term data protection by maintaining cunstomized backups at weekly, monthly, and yearly intervals.
