SAN backup refers to using the SAN (Storage Area Network) to directly transfer backup data during the backup process, which is also known as LAN-free backup. After enabling the SAN backup feature, Vinchin can directly copy data from the production SAN storage to the backup SAN storage. Similarly, during data restoration, the data is copied directly from the backup SAN storage to the production SAN storage. Since the data transfer does not pass through the LAN, the backup speed is faster, and the impact on the production system is minimized.
