How to install backup plugin for XCP-ng?

To install backup plugin for XCP-ng, follow the steps below:

1. Download backup plugin from Vinchin backup server web console login screen, please select the version according to your XCP-ng version. After downloading, you should get a .rpm package.

2. The backup plugin for XCP-ng should be installed on each of the hosts including the pool master. So, please upload the .rpm package to each of the hosts in the pool. You can use WinSCP or PSCP, or any other tools which you are familiar with.

3. After uploading, enter the command line interface of each hosts, enter the directory where the .rpm package is uploaded to, and run the below command to install.

   rpm -i vxe-backup-agent-6.5.0-16895.xe.6.5.0.and.7.0.0.x86_64.rpm

   To uninstall the backup plugin, please run the below command.

   rpm -e vxe-backup-agent

Note:

Please DO NOT uninstall the backup plugin while your Vinchin backup server still has running/pending jobs, otherwise the VM backup/restore jobs will fail.
