Selecting the right backup storage is important. It does not only mean selecting secure and reliable storage to save backup data but also requires considering the overall disaster recovery to evaluate the performance and security of the storage.

Cloud storage plays an increasingly important role in enterprise data storage. Cloud storage provided by public clouds typically offers a higher level of protection than local storage because it is maintained by professionals and saving data to the cloud improves data availability, allowing accessing and using data anytime and anywhere. Some business systems are even deployed in the public cloud directly.

To align with the disaster recovery plan, sometimes backup data needs to be uploaded to the cloud. In the past, Vinchin only supported archiving backed-up data to the cloud, but now, you can directly select the cloud storage to store data when creating a backup task.

In the coming release of Vinchin Backup & Recovery 8.0, you can directly save virtual machines, physical machines, databases, and files to public clouds, including Microsoft Azure, Amazon S3, Ceph, MinIO, Wasabi, etc. Just simply add the cloud storage using credentials, and then you can use it as the backup storage to store backup data.

Vinchin Backup & Recovery is going to be released on May 29th. You can contact our sales to get the latest information and register for the upcoming webinar where our engineers will explain and demonstrate all the new features.
