Vinchin Backup & Recovery 7.2 Update: Introducing Proxmox VE Support and Enhanced Hyper-V Backup Features

We are thrilled to announce the release of Vinchin Backup & Recovery 7.2. This update brings exciting new features and enhancements that further improve your data protection capabilities. In this overview, we will highlight the addition of Proxmox as a newly supported virtual platform and the optimized features for Hyper-V backup and restore. Newly Added Proxmox VE Support

In response to user feedback and industry trends, Vinchin Backup & Recovery now supports a new virtualized platform, Proxmox VE. With this new integration, users can seamlessly backup and restore Proxmox virtual machines with various useful backup strategies.

Agentless Backup: Professional virtual machine backup should let users easily handle massive virtual machines and that is also the basic difference between it and traditional backup. Agentless backup for Proxmox VE will allow quickly to connect with backup system without installing any agent on each virtue machine.

LAN-free Backup: Compared with legacy LAN-based backup, LAN-Free backup strategy from Vinchin Backup & Recovery can directly transferring backup data through SAN(FC, ISCSI, NFS storage network) without taking up production network resources. This greatly increases the efficiency of backup process and eliminates impact on your day-to-day business.

Smart Backup:Professional backup solution should free users from cumbersome management work. By enabling auto-backup strategy, the added and deleted VMs on virtualization will be included or excluded to the next backup job automatically. Except for the schedules for different backup types, Vinchin Backup & Recovery also provide flexible short-term or long-term GFS retention policies to help reserve the backup data as long as you need.

Fast Backup: Vinchin Backup & Recovery implements advanced algorithms to improve the performance of backup and recovery. For example, SpeedKit, Vinchin self-developed technology works as a CBT alternative to speed up incremental backup.

Powerful data reduction: Storage space is precious resources for users so vinchin works hard on maximizing its usage rate. Features like data compression and deduplication are key to maximizing storage efficiency. Moreover, Vinchin's proprietary feature, BitDetector, provides an additional layer of optimization, further minimizing backup size.

Granular Recovery: Vinchin Backup & Recovery is also able to perform VM data recovery at file level. You can choose to restore specific folders or files to the production host using Granular Restore feature. Enhanced Hyper-V Protection

In Vinchin Backup & Recovery 7.2, we have devoted significant attention to enhancing the Hyper-V protection capabilities.

Added Strategies: To provide higher performance on Hyper-V backup and recovery, some advanced strategies are added, including forever incremental backup, speed controller, backup encryption, pre-create snapshot, muti-thread transfer, and restored VM reconfiguration.

Disaster Recovery: To defend from site disasters, off-site backup copy and cloud archive are supported for Hyper-V protection now.

V2V migration: Vinchin Backup & Recovery now supports for bidirectional V2V migration among 15 Vinchin supported virtualizations including Hyper-V. Besides, instant agentless V2V restore is also supported. This means you can perform cross-platform instant recovery job with RTO in 1 mins to realize business continuity.
